14/01/21 – Unfortunatey, we are no longer able offer routine appointments during the COVID19 pandemic, so the below information may not apply currently.
Appointments can be made by telephone on 0141 776 3442 or by calling at the reception desk. You will be offered the first available appointment with the doctor of your choice. Earlier appointments may be available if you have no doctor preference. If more than one person requires to be seen, please make a separate appointment for each patient. If you have several medical problems to discuss please ask the receptionist for a double appointment. If you feel your illness is medically urgent and you cannot wait until the next available appointment, you should telephone the surgery and request to speak to the emergency doctor who will call you back as soon as possible.
Routine appointments are available every day in the morning and afternoon.
Medical Emergency appointments are available every day in the morning and afternoon.
The surgery is open continuously from 8.30 am-6.00pm.
The Practice appointments/consulting hours are as follow:
Monday 09.00am – 6.30pm,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 09.00am – 6.00pm
Extended Practice Opening Hours
Peel View Medical Centre Kirkintilloch is opened for extended hour appointments on Monday until 6.30 pm.

Please telephone between 2 pm – 4 pm
Appointment Reminder
The Surgery uses an automated text service to your mobile to remind you about your appointment. If you cannot attend your appointment please reply by texting only the word CANCEL or by telephoning 0141 776 3442.
If you do not wish to receive the reminder text, please contact us and we will remove your mobile number from this service.
Cancelled Appointments
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
If you are Late
Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen.
Interpreter
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist when making the appointment and she will arrange this for you.
Private Medical Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes such as pre-employment, fitness to travel, elderly drivers, fitness to undertake sports etc, will require longer than a routine appointment.
These examinations do not form part of NHS Services, you will be charged for any such examination. Please check the fee chargeable when you require to arrange any such examination.
Request for GP Letters/Completion of Forms
If your Doctor has agreed to write a letter for you in connection with your employment, acting as a referee, or for some other specific area, you may be charged for this letter. Please allow at least 5 working days before collecting your letter, if you require this letter urgently please inform your Doctor during your consultation or when given to receptionist. If you wish your Doctor to complete a form/report for you, there will also be a charge for this.
The reception staff will advise you of any applicable charges.
